  • Which hormones would I be replacing—estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or a combination?

  • Is bioidentical hormone therapy an option for me?

  • What are the pros and cons of systemic (pill/patch) vs. local (vaginal) HRT?

Personal Risk & Health History

  • Based on my personal and family history, do I have any increased risks (e.g., breast cancer, blood clots, stroke)?

  • Are there any tests you recommend before starting HRT (like hormone levels, mammogram, or bloodwork)?

  • Are there safer options if I have a history of migraines, high blood pressure, or autoimmune issues?

Effects & Expectations

  • How soon might I expect to feel relief from symptoms?

  • Which symptoms does HRT usually help with—sleep? mood? hot flashes? anxiety? weight?

  • How will we measure whether it’s working or needs adjusting?

Long-Term Use & Monitoring

  • How long is it safe to stay on HRT?

  • Will I need regular check-ins or lab work while on it?

  • What signs should I look out for that something might not be working?

Shared Decision-Making

  • If you're not comfortable prescribing HRT, can you refer me to someone who specializes in menopause care?

  • Are there lifestyle changes I should pair with HRT for the best results?
